· Not a Tree mill but an R8 to Tree quick change adapter. I thought this photo might help as it's the same system that is used on the Tree mills. I have used this on a bunch of different mills over the years and never had a problem with the cutter moving on me. Very fast to change only bad thing is you lose some Z daylight.

· I'm not knocking the Tree collet system, like I said I own a 2UVR. My U.S. Machine Tool mill uses #9 B&S which also work just fine for me, although they don't release from the spindle as easily as R8's. Machine tool makers pushed for standard tooling systems years ago, hence 40 and 50 taper tooling for bigger machines.

· Tree is open. Or have a co-worker support the head while possitioning. If I'm ever asked to fix one, I'll remove the body and mill a seat for some racking and heat-bend it to shape, and secure as best determined. Side tilting is a separate matter, don't remember a stripped one for sure. Also, I will try not to bend the spindle any time soon.

· I recently acquired a nice Tree milling machine. I've yet to get it all wired up as I need to get a voltage issue figured out. It currently has a 1-phase motor on it, but it came with an extra 3-phase. Since all my other machines are 3-phase, I figured I'd go ahead and change out the motors. Well, the 3-phase motor only runs at 440V.
